    Assessing the speech language impaired cases associated with or without locomotor disabilities and giving speech therapy to them inside the Institute. Audiological services like assessing the hearing impairment in the Institute and different camp outside the Institute. Distribution of hearing aids in Institute and camps.

    The assessment of hearing impaired is being carried out for adult and children above 3 years of age. Hearing aids are provided to hearing impaired after assessment if their income is below Rs.75000/- or BPL card holder. The persons with the differently able are provided counseling as proper utilization of hearing aids, care, preventive and maintenance of the hearing aids.
    The assessment of speech and language is being carried out for the differently able with locomotor and without locomotor disabled. Such as C.P., TBI, Hearing Impaired, Hemiplegic, ADHD, Autistics, Cleft lip and palate, stammering, misarticulation and delayed developmental mile stone. Therapeutic services are also being provided based on assessment at institute. Parents of the cerebral palsy children are provided training for his feeding part. The service of speech and hearing are also being provided by organizing camps on the outreach extension services of the institute.

    Assessment camps are conducted to evaluate the needs of Persons With Disabilities before conducting the final distribution camp. Hearing Aids are provided to the patients in distribution camps.

    The academic activities include teaching the students for the long-term courses i.e. BPT & BOT and several short-term programmes every year. The participants for SOCs are paid TA and DA as per Government rules.

    The HOD of the department, has been appointed as Board of study Member in B.ASLP of the Utkal University.
