Multipurpose Orthosis is an assistive device for children with lower extremity disabilities arising out of factors like polio, spinal cord injury, cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy. Through a system of support mechanisms, it is possible to secure the child’s body in a stabilized position. The device can be easily converted to a different configuration allowing a child with severe disability to stand, sit and perform chest-level activities. It can be easily moved on two wheels from one place to another. It is a simple low-cost device requiring components easily available in the market.
