15% of seats for SC and 7.5% of seats for ST are reserved in
each course.
One seat in each course is reserved for
Physically handicapped. The disability should not be less than 40% and it should not be a
hindrance for their studies/training.
All these students must fulfil the
eligibility requirement and must appear for CET.
Three seats in BPT, two seats in BOT
and one seat in BPO courses are nominated by the Ministry of Social Justice and
Empowerment, Govt. of India from the backward states.

For General candidates, a pass in the final examination of the 10 plus 2 system in Science stream or its equivalent with 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for BOT and BPT courses. 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics for BPO course. For SC/ST/PH candidates the requirement is 40% aggregated in these subjects. Passing in English as one of the subjects is essential for all the courses.
The candidate is not eligible if s/he has discontinued the higher study for more than three years from the date of passing of qualifying examination.
The candidates who have appeared for qualifying examination can also appear for CET. They have to produce the original Marks sheet of the qualifying examination at the time of counseling.
Candidates are selected through the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted on all India basis. Based on the performance in this examination a merit list is prepared. The final admission is made according to the order of merit and the preference given by the candidate in their application. A counselling of candidates is done at Olatpur.
Rs. 500 for General category and Rs. 400 for SC/ST/PH candidates.

At the time of Counselling the following documents are required in
original.
·
Original Admit Card of CET.
·
Proof of date of birth.
·
Certificate and mark sheet of the qualifying examination issued by
the Board/University.
·
Conduct and Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution
from where the qualifying examination was passed.
·
Certificate of Medical Fitness signed by the Registered Medical
Practitioner.
·
SC/ST/PH/OBC certificate from appropriate authorities.
·
Migration Certificate in original from the respective regular
school/college/university where the student studied last.
·
Nationality/Domicile Certificate

Only selected candidates based on the order of merit will be intimated by Registered post to attend counseling at the Institute. The merit list will also be hosted on the website – http://www.nirtar.nic.in
Normally at SVNIRTAR. If student wants to do it elsewhere s/he has to get the prior permission from the Institute and it can be done only at recognised rehabilitation centres. To give an exposure to rural rehabilitation Interns are posted at District Disability Rehabilitation Centres (DDRCs) set up by the Ministry/Institute.
Institute does not charge any fees for
DNB course. A stipend of Rs. 5000 is paid.
