Completed Research Projects :
Modular Below Knee Prosthesis (S & T Mission Mode Project ):The Prosthesis is fabricated based on the Endoskeletal Principle on par with the latest technology being followed in the Western Countries. The Modular Below Knee Prosthesis is useful for amputee who lost part of below the knee joint. The Prosthesis consists of Aluminium Alloy pre-fabricated components, Polypropylene thermoplastic socket and Ethaflex soft foam cosmetic cover. The salient features are:-
Modular A.K. Prosthesis :The Modular above knee Prosthesis is being designed and developed at NIRTAR under S and T Mission Mode project, Govt. of India. The Prosthesis consists of Four Bar Linkage Knee Joint, Built in alignment coupling. Aluminium pylon Tube and Ankle Adaptor. It has crosslink polyethylene form (Ethaflex) cosmetic cover. The designed Prosthesis is under field trial and evaluation.
Development of Special Axillary Crutch :The Research Project is funded by S and T Mission Mode, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India. The objective is to develop a special Crutch with two tip support which has reciprocal inclination adjustment by rack and pinion mechanism. The prototype has been designed. The research project is under progress .
